Moving around a lot, family and financial issues, peer pressure, and depression can be difficult for a 14 year old. Going to a big high school in an accelerated program but feeling like an outcast. With little guidance, poor decisions progressed, how was a teenager who decided to dropout of school because life was " Too Much to Bare". Growing up with a single mother in California, high rates of teen pregnancies, shootings, and gang activity, how is a child going to succeed ?

After 5 to 6 months of barely leaving the home, depression, pushing away friends, a question crosses ones' mind....Should a person want to live like this forever ? Living in fear and sadness ? So a new path was chosen. Finding a school in a area that had less distractions (at my own pace, even though it was an 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to school everyday and goes to work after school).

Success can be a lonely road. We experience this as we get older. How we handle our insecurities, fear, depression, and sadness can be difficult alone. Even through the lonely time one can realize what education can bring into one's life. Education can provide a path to greatness in one's life and through my story and journeys to come I can help others realize it only takes one step one a path to success, freedom, and happiness.
